It's not impossible to grow good grapes in our desert environment, but a little preparation can make a big difference. Angela O'Callaghan asks Bob Morris, Professor Emeritus of the Cooperative Extension's Demonstration Orchard and Vinyard how it's done.

Two exciting gardening classes are coming up with our other Desert Bloom host, Angela O'Callaghan.

The first is "Growing in Small Places" - how to grow herbs, vegetbles and flowers even if you don't have much room. Become a farmer on your patio! Saturday, October 1, it begins at 8am and will run until about noon.

The second is designed for those who have seen their good gardens go bad. This class is called Growing in Small Places: WHAT WENT WRONG?? This will help growers figure out what happened, and how to prevent it from happening again. Saturday, November 19, from 8am until noon.

If you'd like to attend either of these classes, registration is required. Call the Master Gardener help line for information at 257-5555.
