A Place in Paradise

Much of Las Vegas has been built out with so-called master-planned communities. But where did it begin? It all got started at Paradise Palms - the neighborhood between Desert Inn and Flamingo just to the east of Maryland Parkway.  The community would feature landscaped neighborhoods, a large "weather-controlled" shopping center, a movie theater, a medical center, a university, schools, parks and a championship golf course. And the early history of this neighborhood is now on display in a new exhibition of photographs at the food court in the Boulevard Mall.
