Education Reforms Update

The Nevada legislature is poised to approve education reforms being pushed by Gov. Brian Sandoval. One bill would impact probationary periods of teachers putting teachers back on probation if they receive bad evaluations. Another change would make it so school districts must use something other than seniority when determining layoffs. The changes are seen as a bargaining chip in bigger negotiations with the state budget but the bills could greatly impact education in Nevada. We talk with a representative from Clark County School District about what the changes mean for teachers.
