Baxter Black is a cowboy poet. The former large animal veterinarian reveres the Old West, and writes a lot about cowboy life. Baxter Black will be performing at this year's National Cowboy Poetry Gathering put on by the Western Folklife Center in Elko. The event runs through Sunday, January 30.
