Sugata Mitra: Bringing Computers to Slum Kids

Dr. Sugata Mitra is a scientist with a question: can slum kids learn how to use computers, with no formal training? So he tested it out: he cut holes in the walls of Indian slums and installed computer kiosks. Kids freely used the computers, and then taught other kids. The idea later inspired the movie, "Slumdog Millionaire." Dr. Mitra talks about his "Hole in the Wall" experiment, and why it's spreading - and bringing computers - to slums around the world.

Dr. Sugata Mitra spoke at the 38th Annual Experiential Education Conference on November 4 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino. Rebroadcast
