1910 Election, Part II

Tasker OddieRunning for the governor of Nevada may not have gotten any easier over the past century. But looking back at one campaign, we're reminded -- it is a lot easier to get around.

Last time, we were talking about the 1910 election where gubernatorial candidate, Tasker Oddie took his campaign door-to-door in his 1907 Desert Model Thomas Flyer, sometimes borrowing money to pay for gasoline. He couldn't afford a whistle-stop campaign by train, and besides, most parts of Nevada couldn't be reached by train. It was hard enough to reach them by car. His strategy barely worked, but worked it did. He won the primary and eventually the general election.
