Mexican Independence Day

September 16th is Mexican Independence Day. Two hundred years ago Father Miguel Hidalgo let ring El Grito De Dolores, the battle cry that signified the start of Mexico's war for independence from Spain. This year Mexico will celebrate the nation's bicentennial.

We talk with UNLV Professor, Tom Wright about the history of Mexican independence and its cultural significance today.
