Thermolytic Gasification

Robert Fielden has been talking about re-inventing Las Vegas for the future. Today he ponders wiser use of waste as an energy source via thermolytic gasifiction.

Thermolytic Gasification is a continuous process that uses elevated temperatures within an oxygen-free environment to convert waste materials into gas. Without oxygen, this process occurs without burning; consequently there is little if any waste ever released into the atmosphere. The gas created through the Thermolytic transformation is cleaned and burned to generate electricity just like the plant next door. According to Fielden, using waste materials, a power plant that utilizes this technology can generate electricity competitively priced with that of NV Energy and less expensively than other renewable energy sources.
