Interview with Jim Sheeler

..."They are the troops that nobody wants to see, carrying a message that no family ever wants to hear. Since the start of the war in Iraq, Marines like Maj. Steve Beck found themselves charged with a mission they never asked for and one for which there can be no training: casualty notification."

So writes Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jim Sheeler in his book: "Final Salute: A Story of Unfinished Lives."

On this Memorial Day, we talk with Sheeler, who shares stories of notifying the survivors and remembering this nation's war dead from Iraq and Afghanistan. Nearly 5,000 American soldiers have died fighting in the two countries since 2001.
