Mortgage Fraud

The FBI is planning a major nation-wide announcement regarding mortgage fraud across the United States. In the last 5 years such cases have resulted in 8 billion dollars in fines. Only 20 percent of the cases are the old style 'fraud for housing', where a person falsifies personal documents so they can buy a home. According to the FBI, 80% of mortgage fraud is called fraud for profit. KNPR's Ky Plaskon took a look at the government's local mortgage fraud initiative.
