The overall numbers in July were also trending higher for both domestic and international flights.

The airport's most dominate carrier, Southwest Airlines, however, saw a 2.7 percent decrease in the month-over-month passenger count.

The Dallas-based airline had 1.6 million passengers at McCarran last month, though its yearly total so far still shows gains for 2016.
