LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jury selection is set to begin Monday in Nevada for the death-penalty trial of a self-described pimp accused of killing three people by shooting into a moving car and causing a fiery crash on the Las Vegas Strip.
Ammar Harris has pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder and felony discharging a firearm charges in the February 2013 incident.
He's accused of firing from a black Range Rover SUV into a silver Maserati, mortally wounding an aspiring rapper behind the wheel before the sports car slammed into a taxi that burst into flames.
The Maserati driver, taxi driver and a tourist from Washington State were killed.
Police say the shooting followed an altercation at a casino valet stand following a hip-hop concert at a rented nightclub at the Aria resort.
