LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Nevada Commission on Tourism says it will hand out $1.1 million for 176 different statewide efforts encouraging visitors to stay overnight in rural Nevada.
The agency said Thursday that the matching grants will publicize a new off-highway vehicle festival in Moapa Valley, tours for travel writers along the U.S. 50 corridor and tours of the Reno-Tahoe area for Brazilian tour operators among other programs.
Other grant awards will be used for branded giveaways at travel shows as well as advertising, brochures and billboards.
