Moapa Valley National Wildlife Refuge open UPDATE

The Moapa Valley National Wildlife Refuge is open each week Friday through Sunday from sunrise to sunset Labor Day through Memorial Day.

The visitor area includes two walking trails with interpretive panels and a stream profile chamber featuring a water-level view of the endangered Moapa dace (a small fish). Guided interpretive walks are held from time to time.

The 117-acre site is about is 60 miles north of Las Vegas off of Interstate 15 on Warm Springs Road. Staffing for the weekend openings is provided by volunteers, who also are needed for restoration projects. For more about volunteering, contact Harry Konwin at 702-515-5494 or harry_konwin@fws.gov.
