Nevada Public Radio Celebrates Decade of Expansion

If you moved to Southern Nevada anytime in the last 10 years you've always known News 88.9 KNPR and Classical 89 7 as two FM stations. October 31st marks a decade since the launch of Classical 89 7 and KNPR becoming News 88.9. During that decade KNPR's State of Nevada has become appointment listening, Desert Companion has grown into an award-winning city regional magazine and Classical music lovers have an escape into the finest music. Nevada's first NPR affiliate has become increasingly important to a continually growing audience through its broadcast, digital and print media offerings.

In this video - Flo Rogers, Nevada Public Radio President and General Manager - takes us through the timeline and shares the history of the two radio stations, the launch KNPR's State of Nevada and the growth of the bi-annual Cultural Guide into Desert Companion, a monthly city-regional publication.
