Programs are free, reservations required, ranger lead Sandstone Canyon Full Moon Hike, June 30, 8-10 p.m., call 702-875-4141, meets at gate at 7:45. Next hike is July 14th on the new moon which means no moon, and makes stargazing easier. Moon walk programs run through out the year, each twice a month.

Scheduled events of the Las Vegas Astronomical Society: public invited: monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month, at 7:30 p.m., in the Planetarium at CCSN - 3200 East Cheyenne. LVAS Society Monthly Meeting: Thursday, July 5: Presentation: 'A Sidewalk Astronomer - A film about astronomy and John Dobson.'

July 07: Public Star Party at Red Rock (8-11 pm). Note: Star Parties and Red Rock events are open to the public and free of charge. Gates to the Red Rock Visitor Center Close thirty minutes after the program start time.

Southern Nevada's only public planetarium! Show schedule: call 702-651-4759. They present programs to the general public and the local schools on a domed screen. The screen hemispheric video projection system creates virtual realities on the dome surrounding the audience. Now through August 25, 2007: Stars of the Pharaohs and Sky Watch; Saturday Matinee (oriented to families: 3:30 pm) Larry, Cat in Space and Sky Watch. Programs are presented every Friday at 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm and every Saturday at 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Presentations start on time and there is no late seating.

Admission prices are: General Admission: $6.00; Discount Admission: $4.00. After 7:30 pm performances, the telescopes at the Student Observatory will be open for viewing when the weather is clear.
